Tribute to Maynard Ferguson

The Jazzaar Festival Big Band with Peter Erskine & Wayne Bergeron, directed by Fritz K Renold
 
The album features catchy jazz standards and original MF big band arrangements, performed by the Jazzaar Festival Big Band, directed by Fritz K. Renold.
Special guests are Peter Erskine and Wayne Bergeron, together with four other alumni of the Maynard Ferguson Big Band and joined by two of the UK’s top lead trumpeters. This was the Jazzaar Festival‘s 1st virtual concert, released in April 2021.
The performance was recorded and filmed during the lockdown phase in 2021. As such, the recordings took place in multiple locations worldwide, as well as in Schönenwerd, Switzerland. The young musicians and their mentors met online to prepare for this experience.
